Mail Collection Times
Mail is collected from the postbox in the village at 5 pm Monday to Friday and at 7.45 am on Saturdays, and from the postbox at Shadrack Cross at 5 pm Monday to Friday and at 9 am on Saturdays. A later collection is at 6.15 pm Monday to Friday and at 1.15 pm on Saturdays from the postbox at Totnes Delivery Office, Babbage Road.
There’s one bus stop in the parish at Littlehempston Cross where the road from the village meets the A381 Newton Abbot to Totnes road at the south-western end of the viaduct across Gatcombe Brook. Buses 177 and X64 stop there, and at the bus stop at Shadrack Cross (just across the border in Berry Pomeroy !).
The X64 is operated by Stagecoach and runs approximately every two hours between Exeter and Totnes on Mondays to Saturdays. There are only two buses on a Sunday, but the service is extended to Salcombe. Click here for the detailed timetable.
Recycling and Refuse collection
Collections are on Thursdays with recycling (brown bins, and clear and blue sacks) one week, alternating with landfill waste (black bins) the following week. You can find out a lot more detail, and download a collection calendar and a recycling booklet, from South Hams District Council’s website.
