Littlehempston Fete

Event Details

Dubbed one of the best traditional fetes in the area, Littlehempston offers loads of old favourites – Tug of War, the Slippery Pole, Whack-the-Rat and Holey Mackerel, plus new activities to delight, and of course it wouldn’t be complete without the hugely popular Fun Dog Show. There’s free entry for children (£2.50 adults), free car parking and plenty of free entertainment from Ben the Juggler, the Stilt-Man, donkey rides and ferret racing throughout the evening, so it’s great fun for all the family to enjoy without spending a fortune. There will be loads to keep the children amused and you’ll find a warm welcome whatever the weather!

Delicious food and drink also awaits you – the ever popular Hog Roast, classy barbecue food, hot dogs and tasty teas and cakes plus fine local ales or a jug of Pimms. This is the perfect place to relax, so bring a picnic rug and make an evening of it, while listening to the mellow music of Chez La Vie and band ‘Waves’ from Broadhempston.

All proceeds will support village activities, Littlehempston Church and Community Space, Berry Pomeroy School and Rowcroft Hospice.

The fete is in Gatcombe in the parish of Littlehempston (TQ9 6LW). It is well signposted from the A381 (turn off along the road to Berry Pomeroy and follow the fete signs – it’s on your left as you go up the hill out of Gatcombe), and it is also signposted on the road from Berry Pomeroy. You can’t miss it!!
