Cycling Inspiration

Were you amazed and inspired by the fitness and skill of the athletes competing in the recent championships in Scotland? I watched with awe and determined to improve my level of fitness – not that I could ever match the levels on display across sites in Glasgow, Edinburgh and elsewhere. But I might get a little closer if I work at it regularly. So during August that is what I have done – and I shall put it to good use in September by undertaking a sponsored ride to support the Devon Historic Churches Trust (DHCT).

This ride is an annual event scheduled for the second Saturday in September – but as that is the date of our next Pop-up Stall (please come and buy cake and produce), I shall set out on Sunday Sept 10th and visit as many of our local churches as I can – and I am aiming for ten.

If you would like to join me and raise some sponsorship yourself, please get in touch. If you are kind enough to sponsor me – again, please let me know. Half of the money I raise will go to support the maintenance of our church in Littlehempston and half will go into the DHCT coffers to be given out as grants to other churches needing help. If you are able to sponsor me and don’t use cash, then you can send money direct to the Devon Historic Churches Bike Ride Account, sort code 20-30-47 and a/c 00290564 with the reference ‘Littlehempston’ then your gift will be allocated correctly.

Please give me an encouraging cheer if you see me out either training or on the day itself, and please consider supporting this established charity that does so much to help so many of our beautiful buildings that are at the heart of our Devon town and village communities.
