Devon County Council estimate that there are 90,000 people providing unpaid care for loved ones and friends in Devon, but only 20,000 are known to the County’s carers’ support services.
If you look after someone else on a voluntary basis, then there’s information and support available that may help you.
They’ve been asking carers what sort of support they feel would be helpful, and making improvements to services they provide to carers as a result.
One of their big challenges though, is in reaching carers. They’re in touch with many, but there are many more who they don’t yet know and can’t yet support.
