Parish Council Elections 2015

Parish Council Elections will take place on 7th May at the same time as the District and Parliamentary Elections. But there will only be a Parish Council Election in Littlehempston if more than five people are prepared to put themselves forward to serve on the Parish Council. All of us who live in the parish are affected by the decisions that the Parish Council makes, so we should all support it and be prepared to take turns serving on it. We’ve all got busy lives, but we do need and deserve a democratically elected council to take decisions on our behalf.

If you’d like to put yourself forward to take a turn as a Parish Councillor, there’s a lot of useful information on the Electoral Commission and Devon Association of Local Councils websites. Our Parish Council Election will be run by South Hams District Council and there’s some information, including a timetable of events, on the South Hams website. Completed nomination papers need to be delivered by hand (not necessarily by the candidate) to the returning officer between 10am and 4pm on weekdays between Wednesday 25th March and Thursday 9th April.
