The new BOB Community bus service starts running on Monday 27th April 2015. On Mondays and Wednesdays every week (Bank Holidays excepted) the 15 seater Mercedes minibus will leave from outside the Tally Ho at 09.45, having first called at the Bourtons at 09.30 and arriving Totnes Seven Stars at 10.00. Return from the Seven Stars is at 13.00 via the Bourtons, arriving at the Tally Ho at 13.15. Further service (one way only!) to Totnes is at 13.15.

Adult fares will be £1.50 return, 75p single (5-16 year olds half price). Bus Pass holders travel free. BOB now has 4 buses in its fleet and they are available for local affiliated groups and organisations to hire at competitive rates.

BOB scheduled services are driven by trained volunteers and the organisation is a registered Charity. We rely on the support of the communities that we serve for volunteer drivers, committee workers and fundraising. On Thursday 26th March BOB will be in Littlehempston from 10am with our New Routes Roadshow, giving out timetables and giving villagers the chance to ask questions and see the Bus. We hope to see you there.

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is looking for a dedicated horse lover to join its board of trustees. This rare and rewarding voluntary position would see the successful candidate work in partnership with the existing board of eight, using skills and experience to provide leadership and direction to the non-profit organisation.

The Sanctuary rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes horses in need and has recently expanded to own its fourth farm in Devon.

Chairman of trustees Nigel Brown explains why the role would be rewarding for the right person and clarifies the level of commitment involved. He said: “Trustees have responsibility over the Sanctuary’s direction and for ensuring the charity does what it was set up to do. Our board members come from all walks of life and are united by their desire to make positive changes to horse welfare, so we are looking for someone who shares our passion to come and make a difference. We are open to applications from people with experience in any industry that they feel they can use to help. Enthusiasm, commitment and passion are just as important too. Your geographical location should be no issue in regards to your suitability providing you are willing to travel to attend a monthly meeting which will be planned well in advance. The evening of Sunday the 1st February at the Tally Ho was quite a bit busier than usual as about 20 people rolled in to enjoy the first Singing for Fun session. Hugh Edwards led the way, supported by a couple of musical friends, and a good time was had by all. The plan is for Singing for Fun to take place on the first Sunday of every month – the next one is at 8pm on Sunday 1st March.
