What a lot of talent!

A big thank you to all those who helped make Littlehempston’s Christmas Craft Fair such a success. The church looked lovely with stalls laden with beautifully handcrafted goods, and our talented stallholders enjoyed the opportunity of meeting up with other creative local people. Delicious refreshments were served up by the Tally Ho team, Mary Crick raised an amazing £81 with her raffle of the family quilt and we even had a “sculpture park” outside courtesy of local sculptor, Bruce Kirby.

A magnificent £460 was raised into the bargain! It was especially heart-warming to welcome new stallholders, inspired by this event to get creative. Then it was time for lighting the Christmas Tree, lusty carols and mince pies and mulled wine. (And a particular fine rendition of Rudolph the Red Nose reindeer by Shelley). A great start to Christmas!

This is a good opportunity to offer a hearty thank you to everyone who over the last year has worked so hard to raise thousands of pounds through fund-raising events and activities to keep our beautiful church open for both worship and community events. All money raised is used to pay for heating, cleaning and lighting, for improvements such as the extra heating and, most importantly, for paying off the loan taken out last year to fund the final stages of the building works.

But it’s not all hard work – all these different activities have provided lots of occasions to get together and have fun. And there’s lots more entertainment planned for 2014!
