All contributors are welcome at this art, craft and produce fair to be held in Littlehempston Church on Saturday June 23rd from 10am to 4pm. You don’t have to live in the village to take part and we would love to welcome people from all around to help celebrate our first event organised in aid of the new Community Space.
The fair is taking shape nicely, with contributors so far offering artefacts of furniture, jewellery, photography and painting – not to mention sou’westers and woollen fairies. We want to celebrate all manner of things that we make in our community – so there will be a stall for your wonderful cakes, preserves, wines, and honey, as well as for seasonal plants and produce. If you prefer just to exhibit rather than sell your craft, then that’s fine too. Contributors can simply donate their items, or offer a percentage of their takings. Commercial exhibitors will be able to pay for a table space.
Children will love the Fairies Workshop with Jane Eyres, making ethereal creatures from Devon wool to create a Fairy Tree for the Village Fete (July 21st). A blind auction offers a beautiful Indian Rosewood Archive Box with antique lock suitable for storing precious documents kindly donated by Chris Waters (pictured here).
We plan to set up the space at 7pm on Friday 22 June, so that the day itself can get off to a clear start. With enough volunteers we will be able to offer refreshments, so please contact the Community Team if you’d like to help. All contributors please contact event co-ordinator, Chris Waters, on 01803-865458, or send him an e-mail.
