Littlehempston Parish Council wants to know what people who live in the parish think about the proposed Littlehempston to Totnes cyclepath, and what their views are of the different possible routes. Devon County Council have produced a document which includes detailed maps of the different options which are being considered. First Lottery Winner!
The very first Littlehempston Lottery draw was held at the Pig and Whistle on Wednesday February 29th, with a gathering of villagers all holding their breath as the winning ball was hauled out by Viv Whybrow (whose idea this originally was). The lucky winner was Mike Wellum of Gatcombe, who received a cheque for £230. (He thought it was a wind-up when he was informed by phone). Ken Wood then presented a cheque for £230 to Colin Platt, chairman of the Space Project. Ken has done a brilliant job at setting the lottery up to raise money for the project – thanks, Ken!
The lottery is open to all those living in the Parish, is drawn quarterly and costs £10 per ticket. 54 villagers entered the first lottery, giving a total of £540 from which initial set up expenses were deducted. There will be more in the pot for the next draw in May. If you’d like to enter, send a cheque or cash for £10 (May draw) or £30 (May, August,November draws) made payable to “Littlehempston Lottery Fund” to Ken Wood, Old Gatcombe House, Gatcombe, Totnes TQ9 6LW.
